control via IP from any part
of the world - the MauveLink-IR-PC
system is based upon a client-server based control structure that
enables the hardware to be controlled by the machine to which
it is attached, or by
remote systems using TCP/IP communications.
The desktop 'virtual handset' acts
as the client, whilst the low-level device handler (which controls
the MLIR-PC hardware) acts as the server. The client and server
can be on separate machines provided there is some form of
TCP/IP communication between the two.
It is also possible to have simultaneous
local and remote control, to enable selection overrides and broadcast/multicast
facilities.
